Teaching

Teaching is the highlight of my week. When I tell my students this they are skeptical, but teaching energizes me like little else. I’m passionate about engaging my students with political science and current issues in the world. My energy is reflected in consistently high teaching evaluations, motivated students, invitations to guest lecture, and teaching awards.

In addition to serving a teaching assistant for a variety of classes, I also was selected to teach the Department of Political Science’s TA Training Course the last two years. The course is a two quarter long sequence in which the incoming PhD student cohort is introduced to best practices in teaching at the collegiate level. The course gives me an opportunity to pass on my experiences to the next generation as well as to reflect on my pedagogical practices.
